The Author Spring Cora

Hello, I'm Spring

I hold two degrees in subjects best not mentioned in polite society: A Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Colorado State University and a Master of Divinity from the Iliff School of Theology. Spent ten years as a substitute teacher at Valley High School, along with a slew of other jobs in my adult life.

I taught myself the craft of novel writing in my spare time, though I have always longed to tell a great story.

I am a devoted aunt and take care of my parents. I love my dog, College Football, and the Seattle Seahawks. I'm one big Geek and a Fanthropy Virtual Running Club member.

My Story

Becoming a writer was a long journey for me, and I know it is a journey that I will continue for the rest of my days on this planet. I want to shine a light into the dark places of the soul and remind the world that love and light are in balance with the dark.  I know for certain a majority of my stories will focus on how we grow in our own faith; when those who see themselves as righteous deny the divine, they profess. I also intend to write my novels, leaving room for all to read, meaning the romance will never be too spicy. I want to leave a little room for everyone's imagination.

Wavy Abstract Background

The Story of The Awaken Saga…

I began writing this story months after I made the choice to leave the ministry.  The pain I endured needed an outlet, and it was suggested that maybe writing would help me let go of the pain. So, I began to write out the events that had happened and how they had affected my soul. The problem was the events were too painful. The best idea I ever had was to make a character to handle pain.  Thus, Drew Masen was born. Because if Drew lived through the events then so could I.   Within weeks, the first chapters were beginning to form.  My inner writer began to kick in, and a novel was born as the story took hold and became the foundation of the Awaken Saga.

It would take me about ten years to truly believe that becoming an Author was possible. I have loved writing for most of my life, but I had been told my dyslexia would never allow me to be a writer. Thank goodness for software that helps one find misspellings and grammar issues, or I would still be sitting on my bed with a messy notebook. With each edit of the saga and teaching myself how to find the finer points to the story you will hold in your hands, I learned to believe in myself once more. Thank you again for taking the time to sit with Drew and her friends and for being a part of their story and mine.
